Day 2 Quebec

September 27th...  Had a lovely rest.  Our bed was like sleeping on a cloud, so, comfy and cozy.  Our room has several special features.  The toilet seat lowers automatically, the shower head was really a rain shower head from ceiling.  Real coffee cups, a very modern decor and everything seemed brand new. After breakfast we got the free shuttle to down town.  It dropped us off at the Fairmont Le Chateau Fontenac.  A palatial landmark hotel that sits on top a hillside in old Quebec.  The 19th century furnishings and spectacular setting were well worth taking the time to stop and enjoy. Next we strolled along the Dufferin Terrace.  The wide wooden boardwalk is next two Le Chateau Frontenac .  It offers spectacular views of old town and the St Lawrence river.  The terrace is linked two steps that take you to the Citadel.  This fortress sits atop the highest hill and remains the largest fort in North America still occupied by soldiers who live and work there.  It is also one of two official residences of the Governor General of Canada. We walk many of the streets on the upper part looking at shops, the Nortre Dame Basilica-Cathedral of Quebec and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.  Both of these churches are so amazing.  We stopped to have a late lunch before the shuttle returns to pick us up. Arlen finally gets his steak frites but I don't think he was impressed.
